Gerard Philippeaux is the Manager for Seaport Strategic Initiatives for Miami-Dade County’s Port Miami. A member of the Public Affairs and Marketing Division since 2015, he is responsible for assisting in the development of new strategic opportunities for the port, including Africa’s emerging markets. From 2002, he has advised Miami-Dade County elected officials in the areas of transportation, legislative and public affairs and media relations. In 2011, he became Chief of Staff to the Miami-Dade County’s Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners. A former member of the Haitian diplomatic corps, he also worked for various U.S. and international agencies.
